Brevan Howard Expands Ripple Prime Partnership for Multi-Asset Services
Brevan Howard, a global alternative investment manager with approximately $35 billion in assets under management, has deepened its partnership with Ripple to enhance its cross-asset capabilities. The expanded agreement, announced on October 6, 2023, covers prime brokerage, clearing, and financing services, aiming to streamline operations and improve capital efficiency for Brevan Howard’s teams across multiple asset classes.
The collaboration reflects the growing demand among investment managers for infrastructure that bridges traditional and digital markets within a regulated framework. Ripple Prime’s unified platform will provide Brevan Howard with access to a range of services, including equity derivatives introduced on August 27, 2023. These derivatives offer exposure to stocks, indices, or digital assets without direct ownership, complementing Ripple Prime’s existing offerings in currency trading and fixed income.
Brevan Howard’s relationship with Ripple extends beyond services to an equity investment. Funds managed by Brevan Howard affiliates participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic investment round in November 2025, which valued the company at $40 billion. Other participants included funds associated with Fortress Investment Group, Citadel Securities, Pantera Capital, Galaxy Digital, and Marshall Wace.
Alan McGroarty, Brevan Howard’s group chief operating officer, highlighted the operational benefits of the expanded agreement, stating that Ripple’s platform would provide increased ease and capital efficiency for their investment teams. Noel Kimmel, president of Ripple Prime, emphasized the long-term commitment to shared success, noting Brevan Howard’s trust in Ripple Prime’s competitive position and cross-asset capabilities.
