A British investor has been reunited with 61 Bitcoin valued at around £3.3 million after losing access to them for over 12 years due to the collapse of UK exchange Intersango in 2014.

The investor, who had originally invested £1,500 in 2011, had given up hope of recovering their funds until lawyers were able to prove ownership through old records and successfully resolved the claim in US courts.

This case highlights the challenges and potential for recovering crypto assets from defunct exchanges as UK regulations evolve.
