British man alleges cryptocurrency theft after violent Phuket assault
A British man claims he was seriously assaulted and forced to transfer cryptocurrency during an encounter with two Polish men and a childhood friend in Phuket. The incident occurred around 11 PM on September 29 at a condominium in the Chalong area. According to his account shared with the Phuket Times Facebook page, the man drove from Kamala to meet his friend, only to find the two Polish men already drinking. He allegedly refused their repeated attempts to make him drink more alcohol.
The situation reportedly turned violent when the Polish men attacked him, strangled him with a cable tie, and tried to detain him. The British man said he asked his friend for help, but his friend sided with the attackers instead. He alleged that he was threatened with pruning shears and coerced into transferring a small amount of cryptocurrency, which angered the men further.
In an attempt to escape, the British man jumped from the fourth-floor balcony, sustaining severe injuries that reportedly left him unable to walk. A condominium security guard later found him and provided assistance. The report did not specify whether the British man filed an official police report regarding the alleged assault or attempted cryptocurrency theft.
