BSP, PPMI Unveil New Digital Payment Services Amid Expanded Transaction Limits
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Philippine Payments Management, Inc. (PPMI) introduced three new digital payment services on July 29, 2026. The initiatives include Direct Debit PH, InstaPay Cash-In, and InstaPay for Business.
Direct Debit PH allows users to authorize billers to collect payments from their accounts on scheduled due dates. Meanwhile, InstaPay Cash-In enables a user to send a request for funds to another individual, who can then approve and transfer the funds using their respective bank or e-wallet account.
The BSP also raised the transaction limit under InstaPay for Business to PHP 500,000 per transaction, a tenfold increase from the previous limit of PHP 50,000. This move aligns with the National Retail Payment System Framework, which serves as the central bank's blueprint for electronic payment operations.
