BTC Holds Above $83,000 Amid $511 Million Crypto Liquidations
Bitcoin (BTC) traded within a narrow range of $82,563 and $84,381 on September 29 as investors continued to show a mix of caution and greed. The cryptocurrency's price held above $83,000 despite the broader market's decline, with its decline narrowing to 1.14%. Ether (ETH), on the other hand, rose by 0.11% to $2,676.
The crypto liquidations reached a staggering $511 million over the past 24 hours, with long positions accounting for $408 million of that amount. This suggests that investors are increasingly taking on riskier bets in the market. The largest single liquidation was an ETH/USDT futures position worth $11.82 million on Binance.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index fell to 73 from 74, indicating a slight decrease in extreme-greed sentiment but still remaining in greed territory. This index has stayed between 70 and 78 for the past eight days, suggesting a stable market sentiment.
