BTC Rally Fails to Break Resistance as Bear Market Bottom Debated
Bitcoin has rallied from its 2026 low near $57,000 to around $79,000, sparking questions about whether the bear market is truly over. Several technical and market indicators suggest a bullish case, including reclaimed major moving averages, increased spot Bitcoin ETF demand, and improved large holder accumulation.
A recent weekly rally saw BTC gain more than 25% and reclaim technical levels that had been out of reach for months. However, the price has not yet broken resistance at around $83,000, and some indicators still call for caution, such as weak spot volume and a fast recovery that may leave the market vulnerable to a correction.
ChatGPT and Claude, two AI models, were asked to analyze the market data and provide their predictions. Both models concluded that Bitcoin's bear market has likely bottomed, but with different levels of confidence. ChatGPT estimated a 70% to 75% probability that the bear market is over, while Claude was more cautious, saying that durability still needs to be demonstrated.
The disagreement between the two models comes down to how much confirmation their indicators provide. While both agree on the probable bottom, they differ in their assessment of the current breakout's strength and sustainability.
