BTC Whales Dump $2.52B, ETH Whales Buy $162M Amid Market Divergence
The Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) market saw whales sell off $2.52 billion worth of the cryptocurrency this week, while Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) whales bought in with an investment of around $162 million. In contrast, XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) whales remained largely inactive.
According to crypto analyst Ali Martinez, Bitcoin whale holdings decreased by approximately 30,000 BTC during the same period, valued at about $2.52 billion. This indicates that large holders are trimming their exposure to the market.
Ethereum told a different story, with whales adding around 60,000 ETH over the same stretch, worth roughly $162 million. Meanwhile, XRP whales barely moved, holding steady near 3.90 billion tokens with no significant change.
