BTCC World Cup Showdown Draws In Over 80,000 Traders With Record-Breaking Volume

BTCC, one of the world's longest-serving cryptocurrency exchanges and official regional sponsor of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), wrapped up its World Cup Showdown on July 21st. The campaign drew in over 80,000 participants who traded on BTCC during Argentina's World Cup knockout journey.

Trading volume surged by 22% across the full campaign period compared to pre-campaign levels. This increase was directly tied to a 1.25x volume boost given to traders before each of Argentina's matches. The boost allowed traders to climb the weekly and overall leaderboards.

The highest daily futures trading volume reached $2.84 billion on June 15th, ahead of Argentina's match against Algeria. This was 15% above the average of surrounding days. BTCC's volume boost carried through all five of Argentina's knockout matches, with three exceeding the campaign's July daily average.

The prizes for the World Cup Showdown are now being distributed to participants. The prize pool includes a signed Argentina jersey, a Miami yacht getaway, and a Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Titanium watch among other items. BTCC will continue its 15th anniversary celebrations by giving away Lionel Messi-signed jerseys on its official X account throughout 2026.
