BTCS Prepares DeFi Unit for Tokenized Equity Liquidity Under SEC Exemption
BTCS, a Nasdaq-listed company, has completed preparatory compliance steps for its Imperium DeFi unit to potentially use the SEC's Covered Firm exemption.
This exemption allows qualifying firms to provide liquidity through automated market maker pools on eligible tokenized-securities venues without being treated as dealers.
BTCS submitted a notice to the regulator and published required disclosures, but it has not yet started providing tokenized-equity liquidity because a qualifying Tokenized Securities Venue must first become operational.
The company's Imperium unit already deploys crypto assets into DeFi protocols, including lending and liquidity markets, and is positioning itself to extend this business into regulated securities represented on blockchain infrastructure.
