BTCS Prepares DeFi Unit for Tokenized Stock Liquidity Provision

Instruments

BTCS is preparing its Imperium DeFi unit to provide liquidity for tokenized stocks under the SEC's Covered Firm exemption. The company has completed preparatory compliance steps, including submitting a notice and publishing required disclosures.

The exemption does not mean SEC approval; BTCS has not received a broker-dealer license for Imperium, and the regulator has not endorsed the company's tokenized-equity strategy.

Imperium cannot begin relying on the exemption until a qualifying Tokenized Securities Venue is operational. Public companies are moving into on-chain market making, and traditional stock markets rely on market makers to keep bids and offers available.
