BTCS Swaps Ethereum for USDT to Repay Aave Debt and Reduce Crypto Exposure
BTCS Inc., an Ethereum infrastructure company listed on Nasdaq, has made a strategic move to reduce its exposure to crypto markets and DeFi protocols. In the second quarter, the company swapped approximately $8.27 million of ETH into USDT to repay Aave loans, with the goal of minimizing its risk.
The repayment was facilitated by swapping ETH into USDT, which allowed BTCS to pay down its Aave debt without having to sell off its assets directly. This move is significant because it shows that the company is taking steps to manage its exposure to crypto markets and DeFi protocols.
At the end of Q2, BTCS reported $317,113 in cash and stablecoins, which accounted for just 0.36% of its total assets. The company also held approximately $88.1 million in other current digital-asset categories, including treasury holdings, DeFi deployments, staked assets, liquidity-pool positions, and NFTs.
