BTSE Bhutan Secures Full Crypto Trading License in Gelephu Mindfulness City
BTSE Bhutan has secured a full financial services license from the Gelephu Financial Services Office (GFSO), allowing the exchange to launch regulated digital asset trading and custody operations in Bhutan's special economic zone.
The approval, announced on September 29, converts an in-principle nod received by BTSE Bhutan in April 2026 into a formal operating permit. This license authorizes the company to run a multilateral trading facility for virtual assets and provide institutional-grade custody services under the regulatory framework of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).
BTSE said it will begin onboarding users in the coming weeks, starting with spot trading for BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT pairs. The company plans to introduce additional trading pairs later, subject to its listing framework and regulatory requirements.
