Bull Bitcoin's Urgent Motion to Block DAC8 Rejected by French Council
Bull Bitcoin and Paymium's urgent motion to block France's DAC8 decree was rejected by the Council of State. This means that operations carried out since January 1, 2026, must still be declared in 2027.
The French government's decree requires crypto-asset service providers to collect and transmit data on transactions, which will then be shared with European tax administrations through the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF).
Bull Bitcoin has been contesting the decree since February, arguing that it exposes holders more than a targeted tax request. The company claims that the systematic collection of data poses a risk to users' security and privacy.
The Council of State did not consider this risk sufficient to warrant an immediate suspension of the decree, but Bull Bitcoin's appeal against the legality of DAC8 continues.
