Bullish Lends $100M Against GPU-Backed Loans in AI Infrastructure Deal
Crypto platform Bullish is providing a $100 million debt facility to USD.AI, allowing it to originate more loans against graphics processing units (GPUs) and other high-performance computing equipment. This financing gives USD.AI additional liquidity and connects two rapidly growing areas of finance: private credit for AI infrastructure and the tokenization of real-world assets using blockchain markets.
AI infrastructure operators require substantial upfront capital to acquire GPUs, construct data centers, and expand computing capacity. The demand for financing specialized hardware has created an opportunity for lenders willing to provide loans against physical assets that have commercial value to AI operators.
The Bullish facility will allow USD.AI to finance more of the AI buildout while creating deeper, more transparent markets for compute-backed credit, said David Choi, CEO of Permian Labs. The model could expand the range of real-world assets available to crypto investors and expose them to both borrower credit risk and the changing value of specialized technology used as collateral.
The relationship between Bullish and USD.AI extends beyond lending. Bullish plans to list USD.AI's sUSDai across multiple trading pairs, giving investors a secondary market for exposure to GPU-backed debt. This component matters because private credit is traditionally difficult to trade, and bringing tokenized exposure onto an exchange could increase liquidity and provide more frequent price discovery for the underlying credit.
