Businesses Flood Bitcoin Market with $1 Billion Worth of Acquisitions
According to data released by River, business entities have significantly increased their Bitcoin holdings in Q2 of 2026, acquiring a total of 115,000 BTC. This trend aligns with a broader pattern of institutional accumulation in the crypto market, even as it faced a 12.6% decline in total market capitalization.
Meanwhile, individual investors sold 78,000 BTC during the same period, highlighting a shift toward institutional investment in Bitcoin amid a downturn in the market. The increased corporate holdings now account for over 6% of Bitcoin's total supply, a factor that markets appear to view as potentially supportive of future price increases.
The likelihood of Bitcoin reaching $67,500 in July has seen a notable increase, with prediction markets pricing it at 46% YES, up from 24% a week ago. This shift suggests that participants are considering the impact of institutional accumulation as a possible driver for upward price movements.
