Busy Investors Remain Final Hurdle to Crypto Adoption Says Bitwise CEO
Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise, identified busy investors as the final hurdle to widespread crypto adoption. Speaking in an interview with Wolf Of The All Street, Horsley noted that while exchanges, custody solutions, and regulatory concerns have been addressed, investor inattention remains a persistent challenge. Many advisors report that their clients are not actively seeking crypto investments, despite approvals for Bitwise products over a year ago.
Horsley emphasized that Bitcoin's price needs steady, balanced growth to encourage adoption. A sharp dip or a rapid surge to $150,000 by the end of October could deter investors. As of Sunday, Bitcoin traded near $85,200, with retail sentiment in the 'bearish' zone. Horsley described the current market as close to an ideal state for adoption, with 'positive price performance, not too slow, not too fast, and not too high too quickly.'
On regulatory matters, Horsley stated that institutions are not waiting for Clarity legislation before entering the crypto space. He acknowledged that well-written Clarity could be beneficial but noted that highly regulated institutions are already moving forward. The GENIUS Act was cited as an example of existing regulatory strength. Additionally, Bitwise's NEAR ETF (NRR) has attracted over $50 million in net inflows since its late September launch, highlighting growing interest in index products.
