Bybit Derivatives Volume Surges to $321B Amidst Broader Crypto Market Recovery
Bybit's derivatives trading volume surged to $321 billion in August, marking a 14.9% increase year-over-year, as the exchange solidified its position among top crypto trading venues.
The growth occurred amidst a broader recovery across centralized exchanges (CEXs) in August, with combined trading volumes rising 12.7% to $4.29 trillion, rebounding from multi-year lows in July.
Spot markets led the rebound, increasing by 18.7%, while derivatives volumes rose 11.3% across CEXs overall. Bybit held a 5.26% market share for August, ranking second among major exchanges by trading volume.
The increase in derivatives trading volume came as Bitcoin prices surged from around $63,000 at the start of August to a three-month high above $80,000 on August 25, driven by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's announcement to dampen Treasury yields.
