Bybit Leads Charge Towards Broader Financial Platforms
The era of pure crypto exchanges is coming to an end as customers seek diversified financial services, according to Bybit's CEO Ben Zhou. In a recent interview with Cointelegraph, Zhou noted that traders want access to multiple asset classes, including stocks, gold, and payments, alongside digital assets.
Bybit has already expanded its offerings beyond cryptocurrencies by providing derivatives tied to stocks, gold, and indexes as well as forex. These products allow users to gain price exposure without owning the underlying assets.
The exchange's repositioning comes at a time when several established crypto exchanges are winding down operations. BitMEX ceased trading on Wednesday after 11 years of operation, while CoinEx announced its wind-down this month due to falling trading volumes and rising compliance costs.
