Bybit Restricts Trading with Sanctioned Entities, Including Lazarus Group

Share

Bybit has published a Restricted Counterparty List identifying crypto platforms, mixers, darknet markets, payment services, and sanctioned organizations that its users are prohibited from transacting with. The list includes entities such as Garantex, Bitzlato, and Lazarus Group.

The policy aims to prevent the movement of stolen or sanctioned assets through centralized liquidity. Bybit actively screens transactions and user activity against restricted counterparties on an ongoing basis. If a prohibited connection is identified, potential actions include blocking transactions, suspending or terminating accounts, filing regulatory reports, liquidating open positions, and cooperating with regulators or law enforcement.

The list does not cover all prohibited counterparties, and users are advised to be cautious when transacting with entities that may be on the restricted list. The publication of Bybit's Restricted Counterparty List comes as exchanges confront the problem of contaminated crypto flows following Bitget's $351.6 million security breach.
