BYTEX Appoints Crypto.com Alumna Diana Pires as Co-Founder
BYTEX, a Singapore-based technology group developing next-generation agentic trading infrastructure, has appointed Diana Pires as its Co-Founder. Pires will lead the company’s commercial organization, institutional partnerships, and market strategy as BYTEX transitions its open-source software into wider enterprise use.
Pires brings over seven years of experience in digital assets and financial technology, having previously held roles at Crypto.com and OKX. At Crypto.com, she served as Vice President of Institutional Sales from 2019 to 2022, overseeing enterprise coverage of professional and institutional trading clients. Before that, she was an AVP at OKX from 2018 to 2019. Her academic background includes a BA (Hons) in English from Brunel University of London and a paused MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency from the University of Nicosia.
BYTEX’s infrastructure is designed for AI, agentic, and automated trading, initially focusing on digital assets before expanding to other markets. The company’s open-source model was a key factor in Pires’ decision to join, as institutions increasingly prefer systems they can inspect. BYTEX’s technology includes Core, an open-source, event-driven trading engine, and Studio, a visual layer for building and testing strategies.
Pires emphasized the importance of open-source infrastructure, stating, 'Closed infrastructure is a hard sell right now. Firms want to inspect the software that touches their critical processes, and open-source is the only honest answer to that.' She noted that BYTEX has spent two years developing its engine, which is crucial for meeting institutional standards.
