Calacanis Slams Meme Coins as 'Giant Scam'
Jason Calacanis has publicly denounced meme coins as a 'giant scam' and warned users that he has no involvement in tokens bearing his name or suggesting his endorsement.
In a statement on September 27, the technology investor clarified that he is a fan of Bitcoin (BTC) and Bittensor's TAO, but emphasized that he has nothing to do with meme coins. He stated that any funds sent to him by people operating such projects would be donated to a 'good cause'.
Calacanis also warned users about messages that could appear to come from him, assuring them that he would never ask followers through social media or direct messages to buy, sell, or trade an asset. His statement comes amidst repeated cases of public figures having their names, images, or compromised accounts connected to meme tokens without authorization.
