Canada Expands XRP ETF Options into US Market
Canada has solidified its position as a trailblazer in cryptocurrency regulation by expanding into the US market. The Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC) has registered options on two domestic XRP ETFs, allowing them to be traded in the United States.
The CDCC's decision to register options on the Evolve XRP ETF and Purpose XRP ETF follows a series of regulatory milestones, including the classification of XRP as a qualifying digital commodity by the SEC and CFTC. This move has paved the way for US institutions to access trading in XRP volatility through Canadian exchange-traded contracts.
Canadian banks have also begun to cautiously invest in XRP products, with National Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal disclosing investments in regulated XRP ETFs. While these moves are still exploratory, they demonstrate a growing confidence in the infrastructure that has been created.
