Canary Capital's Staking ETF May Unleash Tron Supply Shock
Canary Capital's launch of the Canary Staked TRX ETF (TRXS) may be more than just a random move, as it could trigger a supply squeeze in the TRON market. Despite underperforming Ethereum and other large-cap tokens, TRON has been accumulating liquidity on its network.
According to DeFiLlama data, the amount of USDT on the Tron blockchain increased by more than 2% in the last thirty days, surpassing the balance on Ethereum. This means that over 50% of the total Tether supply is now on the Tron blockchain.
The staking ETF's launch could incentivize investors to hold and stake their TRX rather than selling it, potentially causing a supply shock in the market. With increasing institutional interest in TRON, including its inclusion in major U.S. indices and attraction of big-name investors like BlackRock and Vanguard, the stage is set for a potential price move.
Tron Inc.'s treasury holds nearly 700 million TRX valued at over $240 million, further solidifying the case for institutional demand. The question remains whether this supply squeeze will be enough to propel the TRON price upwards.
