Cango's AI Pivot Gains Momentum with First Customer Onboard
Cango Inc., a company that transitioned from a car trader in China to a bitcoin mining and AI services provider, has completed its overhaul of a high-performance computing center in Georgia.
The facility, which is being operated under Cango's new EcoHash unit, can support up to 3 MW of computing power with room for future expansion. Its first customer has been signed on, and the company expects to start generating revenue from AI services in the third quarter.
Cango's CEO Paul Yu stated that the company will continue to run its bitcoin and AI operations as 'parallel businesses.' The focus is shifting to HPC centers due to the low prices of Bitcoin. Cango mined 656 Bitcoins during the second quarter, averaging about 219 per month, down from its monthly average of 422 in the first quarter.
