Capital B Raises $290M to Boost Bitcoin Holdings
French treasury management firm Capital B has taken a significant step to expand its Bitcoin holdings. The company raised $290 million through a post-IPO equity offering, which it used to acquire 13 additional Bitcoins at an average price of $22.31 million per coin.
This brings the total value of Capital B's Bitcoin treasury to approximately $294 million, making it one of the top third of comparable raises in Europe. The company's strategy involves using share issuance to steadily build its reserves and accumulate more Bitcoins over time.
Capital B's model ties its balance sheet directly to Bitcoin's price, which can be volatile. As a result, the value of its treasury can fluctuate rapidly in either direction. Despite this risk, the company remains committed to its strategy, which has already yielded significant results.
