Cardano ADA Jumps 10% After RealFi Mainnet Launch
Cardano's native token, ADA, surged nearly 10% on Monday, reaching $0.273. This price jump followed the launch of the RealFi mainnet on October 3, a project backed by Charles Hoskinson. RealFi is a real-world asset platform that integrates directly with Cardano's blockchain, providing a fundamental catalyst for the price movement.
Derivatives market activity also spiked, with futures open interest increasing 15% to $614.98 million. This growth coincided with a positive funding rate, indicating strong demand for bullish positions. Over the past 30 days, ADA has gained 27%, outperforming major competitors like Ethereum and Solana.
Technical analysts are closely watching the $0.260 support zone, with some targeting a move toward $0.30. Market participants are also anticipating Cardano's participation at the TOKEN2049 Singapore event on October 7 and 8. Despite a recent rejection of a treasury funding proposal for a Cardano Summit, the token's upward momentum continues.
Network metrics have improved, with the total value locked in Cardano-based protocols rising 20% in five days. This growth was partly driven by FluidTokens incentive programs offering a 6% ADA yield through December 31. Analyst Lucky (@LLuciano_BTC) noted that ADA 'is setting its tone for another parabolic run,' reflecting the optimistic sentiment among traders.
