Cardano ADA Price Surges Past 200-Day EMA Amid Growing Leverage
The price of Cardano's ADA token has risen from $0.24 to $0.28, surpassing its 200-day exponential moving average (EMA). This move marks a rare surge in bullish momentum for ADA, with potential to extend toward $0.40 if the trend continues.
Data from Santiment reveals that between October 3 and October 5, ADA climbed about 10%, while open interest soared 25% to $304 million, its highest daily close since early April. The increase in open interest, both in dollar and coin terms, suggests new positions were entering the market rather than existing ones gaining value.
Whale activity also spiked, with transactions worth at least $100,000 reaching 413 on October 5, more than double the average for the prior month. Social volume rose modestly, indicating increased attention but not a frenzy. Some short covering likely contributed to the rally, but funding rates suggest this was not the sole driver.
The combination of ADA's move above the 200-day EMA, strong open interest, elevated whale transactions, and partial short covering creates a complex setup. While $0.40 is a potential target, the outcome remains uncertain.
