Cardano ADA Price Surges Past Key Level Amid Rising Leverage
Cardano's ADA price has seen a significant rise, climbing from $0.24 to $0.28 and breaking above its 200-day exponential moving average (EMA). This move has provided bulls with much-needed momentum, and if the bullish trend continues, the price could extend toward $0.40.
The rally is supported by increasing open interest, which reached $304 million on October 5, the highest daily close since early April. This indicates new positioning entering the market, as open interest measured in coins also increased by roughly 13%. Whale activity has surged as well, with transactions worth at least $100,000 reaching 413 on October 5, more than double the average seen between September 7 and October 2.
While short covering likely contributed to the rally, it does not fully explain the price action. Funding rates flipped positive after reaching their most negative reading of the past month on October 2, but typically, short covering reduces open interest. Instead, open interest has increased, suggesting a more complex setup for ADA.
The current scenario presents a mix of positive signals, including the move above the 200-day EMA, strong open interest, and elevated whale transactions. However, the data does not guarantee a continued upward trend, and the next upside target of $0.40 remains conditional on sustained momentum.
