Cardano Aims for $200M in DeFi Growth with EVM Connectivity Focus
Cardano is seeking to attract $200 million in net DeFi total value locked within 12 months, as per Alpha Growth's Phase One review. The plan involves grants, incentives, partnerships, and capital-attraction efforts, with funding from the Cardano treasury amounting to 120 million ADA.
According to Linda, host of a Cardano-focused YouTube show, the most crucial aspect is access to users and liquidity already active on Ethereum-compatible networks. Alpha Growth's review highlights an adopted wallet serving both EVM and Cardano users, alongside a general-purpose route for bridging assets from ecosystems such as Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum.
Linda argues that Cardano cannot reach the TVL target by persuading dormant ADA holders to suddenly become DeFi users. Instead, she believes much of the chain's existing holder base did not buy ADA to trade, lend or provide liquidity, regardless of previous high-yield opportunities.
