The Cardano (ADA) community is rallying around SecondFi after a $16.1 million exploit earlier this month. The platform has renewed its bounty offer, inviting the attacker to return the stolen funds voluntarily.

According to SecondFi, the breach occurred between June 21 and June 23, affecting 374 wallets connected to the platform. Approximately 16.1 million ADA was taken by the attackers, valued at around $2.5 million at the time of the exploit.

The company has introduced a phased recovery plan with support from the Cardano Foundation and Input Output. The current phase focuses on verifying claims submitted by affected users, while subsequent stages will provide tools for safely exporting remaining assets and eventually compensate users via zero-knowledge proofs.

Blockchain security investigators have linked the exploit to techniques previously associated with North Korea's Lazarus Group, although attribution has not been officially confirmed. SecondFi engineers responded quickly to the breach, securing another 129 million ADA by transferring those holdings to an independent custodian.
