Cardano DRep Warns ADA Holders of Unclaimed NIGHT Tokens
A recent X post by Jaromir Tesar, a popular Cardano DRep, has highlighted an important issue for ADA holders. According to Tesar, there is a significant gap between the number of stakers on the Cardano network and those who have claimed their NIGHT tokens from the Midnight airdrop.
Cexplorer data cited by Tesar shows that Cardano has 1.3 million stakers, but only about 81,763 NIGHT holders are currently recorded on the network. This disparity suggests that many eligible participants may still have unredeemed NIGHT allocations.
The Midnight airdrop is one of the largest community-focused token distributions connected to the Cardano ecosystem, involving 24 billion NIGHT tokens with the entire allocation designated for the community. Cardano received the largest allocation, accounting for 50% of the total, while Bitcoin holders received another 20%, and Ethereum, Solana, XRP, BNB, Avalanche, and BAT holders collectively received the remaining 30%.
Eligible users still have time to redeem their NIGHT allocations through the Glacier Drop program. The current redemption phase will continue until September 5, 2026, after which the final redemption phase will begin on September 6 and run through December 4, 2026.
