Cardano Embeds Machine-Driven Payments Through x402 Integration

The Cardano Foundation has integrated its x402 payment tools to enable automated ADA and native token payments for online services and AI agents using the 402 Payment Required protocol.

This move positions Cardano alongside Solana and XRP Ledger in efforts to embed machine-driven payments into internet requests. The current release has only completed a transaction on Cardano's pre-production network, but not yet on mainnet.

The integration of x402 marks an early positioning move by Cardano in the competition with Solana and XRP Ledger as blockchain networks seek to have their assets embedded wherever developers choose to build machine-payment systems.
