Cardano ETF Hurdle Cleared as CME Futures Contracts Approach Six-Month Mark
Cardano's ADA has reached a crucial milestone in its bid for a U.S. ETF listing, as CME's regulated futures contracts approach six months of trading on August 9.
This development comes at a time when ADA is enjoying a strong rally, with a 20% surge over the past seven days.
The SEC's generic listing standards allow a crypto asset to qualify for a spot ETF if it has traded on a regulated futures market for at least six months. With CME's futures contracts set to complete this milestone on August 9, Cardano takes one step closer to clearing another key hurdle in its bid for an ETF listing.
Grayscale has already filed for the Grayscale Cardano Trust ETF (GADA), which would hold ADA directly and track its market price. This application is pending review by the SEC, with a potential decision window opening on October 23 if it moves forward after August 9.
