Cardano Founder Predicts Failure of CLARITY Act in Senate Vote
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has stated that the US Senate's failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) confirmed his earlier prediction. The bill, which aimed to provide comprehensive crypto legislation, fell short of the necessary votes on September 15, 2026.
Hoskinson argued during a Devs versus Builders livestream that the cryptocurrency industry had weakened its political standing by becoming associated with celebrity-themed tokens and speculative activity. He believed this made it difficult for lawmakers to advance the bill.
In a follow-up livestream, Hoskinson explained why he thought the legislation failed. He claimed that lawmakers tried to address too many complex issues at once without building sufficient bipartisan consensus or conducting thorough consultation.
