Cardano Governance Vote Hits Snag as Deadline Nears

The Cardano governance vote is approaching its September 1 deadline, but participation remains below required levels. The Update Constitutional Committee's delegated Representatives have nearly met the 67% approval threshold at 66.3%, while stake pool operators lag behind at 39% against a 51% requirement.

If the vote fails, it could disrupt the Dijkstra hard fork and Leios upgrade, delaying major network improvements planned for late 2026. Additionally, the existing committee could fall below minimum size, halting key governance actions like Treasury Withdrawals and Parameter Updates.
