Cardano Hydra Fix and Midnight Network's EV Battery Privacy Tech

The Cardano Hydra node has fixed a bug that caused deposits to become stuck after an issue related to Mesh SDK transactions. The problem occurred when an output was topped up below the required minimum, causing a mismatch between the value and stored datum.

As a result of this bug fix, Hydra developers have changed the process so that deposits are checked before submission. This allows the system to fail faster and identify any shortfalls. Additionally, existing stuck deposits can be decoded for manual recovery.

The team has also improved testing by replacing slower end-to-end tests with unit tests, reducing test time from around 115 seconds to 1.3 seconds.

Midnight Network is utilizing NightPass, a privacy-focused tool that verifies the recycled cobalt requirements for EV batteries without exposing sensitive data. This approach allows companies to check the required condition while keeping commercially sensitive information private.
