Cardano Joins Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program Amid Scaling Efforts
Cardano has joined Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program through its Blockchains track. This move puts Cardano inside a payments forum that now includes more than 100 companies, from crypto firms and banks to infrastructure companies.
The program is built around on-chain cross-border money movement and covers B2B transactions and settlement too. The Cardano Foundation will engage with Mastercard and other participants on payments and stablecoin work.
This partnership is not a launch of an ADA-denominated card product, nor has Mastercard announced one. It's not about live checkout buttons or settling transactions in ADA just yet.
Cardano needed this institutional credibility boost, especially after years of carrying a reputation for moving slowly due to its research-heavy approach to protocol design.
