Cardano Joins Solana in AI-Powered Payment Revolution

Cardano has become the latest blockchain to integrate with x402, a software kit that enables automated payments within internet requests. This integration allows developers to build apps and AI agents that can pay for online services using ADA or Cardano-issued tokens.

The x402 standard converts the '402 Payment Required' response into a direct checkout built into an internet request. A service sends back its price and payment instructions, and the agent signs a payment, receiving the requested data or computing power after verification.

This means an AI agent can buy a single dataset when needed without requiring human intervention to open an account, enter card details, or pay for a monthly subscription.
