Cardano Marks Nine Years with Record-Breaking Transactions and x402 Integration
Cardano recently celebrated its ninth anniversary as a blockchain network, achieving several key milestones in terms of transactions and governance participation. The Cardano Foundation reported that the network has recorded over 123 million transactions since its inception, with 13.9 million blocks processed.
The foundation also highlighted the growth of its proof-of-stake network, which is supported by nearly 3,000 stake pools. Governance participation has been strong, with thousands of votes cast across various decisions, including the ratification of the Cardano constitution on-chain.
In addition to these achievements, Cardano has joined the x402 SDK, enabling automated payments for applications and AI agents. This integration allows developers to build Cardano payment options into x402-powered applications, removing manual steps from transactions and providing a new use case for the network.
