Cardano Marks Ninth Anniversary with Record-Breaking Transactions and Ongoing Network Upgrades

Cardano is celebrating its ninth anniversary with significant network upgrades and impressive metrics. The blockchain platform has reached new heights, with over 123 million transactions processed on its network.

The milestone marks nine years since the genesis block was created on September 23, 2017. Since then, Cardano's ecosystem has grown exponentially, with a current scale of 123,982,111 transactions, 13,978,119 blocks, and 2,890 stake pools.

Several major network upgrades have been implemented over the years, including Chang, Plomin, and van Rossem. The roadmap for future upgrades includes Dijkstra Faz 1 in the fourth quarter of 2026, Amaru in November 2026, and Peras in the second quarter of 2027.
