Cardano Native Tokens Coming to Fireblocks Institutional Platform
The Cardano Foundation and Fireblocks are integrating native tokens for institutions by 2027. The integration will allow tokens issued directly on the Cardano blockchain to be treated as standard assets on Fireblocks, along with ADA.
Fireblocks supports over $16 trillion in digital asset transactions and has been supporting ADA since 2021. However, native tokens required extra manual steps until now. The integration covers two standards: CIP-26, the Cardano Token Registry, and CIP-68, the onchain metadata framework.
The Cardano Foundation chief executive, Frederik Gregaard, framed the move as an infrastructure play. 'Institutions rarely adopt a new asset on its own,' he said. 'Adoption happens through trusted infrastructure.' The announcement is a technical roadmap and support is expected by March 2027.
