Cardano Price Crashes Amidst Stalled Bill and Cooling On-Chain Activity

The price of Cardano's ADA token plummeted by over 4.1% today to $0.1955, amidst a broader sell-off in the crypto market.

The decline is attributed to a stalled bill in Washington - the CLARITY Act (H.R. 3633) - which failed to advance after falling short of the required 60 votes for cloture at 49.

In addition, Cardano's on-chain activity has cooled off, with weekly DEX volume dropping from $101.89M in August 17-23 to just $3.37M between September 14-20, according to DefiLlama data.

However, three recent updates may provide a glimmer of hope for ADA price recovery:

  • The Cardano Foundation has joined Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program under its Blockchains track, working on cross-border money movement and B2B transactions.
  • RealFi is set to launch on October 1, aiming to bring stablecoin-based lending and real-world finance to unbanked users, starting with an Africa-focused rollout.
  • Midnight City now hosts AI agents that message and interact with each other, including one discussing SNEK, with more than 3,000 new agents already in queue to join.
