Cardano's (ADA) price has risen by 1.25% to $0.194 on August 6, despite a drop in futures trading volumes and decreased activity on its DeFi platform.

Data from Coinglass shows that ADA futures volumes fell 33% from $884 million on August 4 to $591 million on August 6, with the price declining from $0.199 to $0.1904 during this period.

The open interest in ADA has also decreased by 5.8% to $480 million, indicating a decrease in speculative demand for Cardano as its price retraces from the recent high of $0.199.

Cardano's DeFi Total Value Locked (TVL) on DeFiLlama fell to 358 million ADA, the lowest point since March 2023, despite hype around an upcoming network upgrade that will increase the network's speed by up to 60 times.
