Cardano's price jumped 11 percent on September 18, 2026, to $0.2245 at 23:50 UTC, according to a call to the CoinGecko interface.

The gain is attributed in part to an ongoing vote on the Cardano treasury, but market reports suggest that other factors are also at play.

The proposed withdrawal of 11,787,063 ADA from the treasury would be used to fund OpenZeppelin's development kit for Cardano over twelve months, with a significant portion of the funds converted into a US dollar-denominated stablecoin upon signature of the contract.

The vote requires 67 percent approval from delegated representatives (DReps), and currently stands at 2.14 percent approval among these elected representatives.
