Cardano Price Surges as ADA Added to AI-Powered Payment Kit
The Cardano (ADA) price surged today after being added to the x402 software kit. This move is part of an expansion that allows AI agents or apps to pay using ADA tokens.
The addition comes as Cardano's daily active addresses and open interest have seen significant increases. According to DeFiLlama, the number of active addresses increased by 57% from 14,038 on September 20 to 22,154 on September 21.
This surge coincides with a rise in ADA price, which is up by 5.31% to trade at $0.245 at the time of writing, with trading volumes topping $1.04 billion per CoinGecko data.
The x402 software kit has already supported other blockchain-based payments, including XRP, Solana, Stellar, and NEAR.
