Cardano Readies for Dijkstra Era with Governance Updates and New Node Implementation
Cardano is gearing up for significant changes as it prepares to enter its Dijkstra era. The network's governance, including its Constitution, will be updated to accommodate new features and capabilities introduced by Ouroboros Leios.
The updates are expected to take place in two phases, with the first phase focusing on Nested Transactions and Linear Leios, set to roll out by the end of 2026. The second phase will introduce Peras and is scheduled for an intra-era hard fork in Q2 2027.
In addition to these changes, alternative Cardano node implementations are making progress, with Amaru's team confirming its node is currently relay-capable and syncing to tip. Amaru aims to provide a fully interoperable block-producing node for Cardano, prioritizing modularity and low hardware requirements.
