A deepfake of Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson was used in a scam stream on the Cardano YouTube channel.

The stream, which lasted nearly two hours, claimed to be a community meeting for Project Catalyst, a decentralized fund supporting innovation and grant programs.

A post accompanying the video promised viewers they could 'change their life in minutes' with a QR code provided nearby.

Hoskinson warned users about the scam through his social media page on X, stating that the IOG YouTube account had been compromised.
