Cardano's price has plummeted by 68% over the past year, marking a dismal performance in the cryptocurrency market.

The ADA token, which is the native currency of the Cardano network, has been on a downward trend since its inception in 2017. Over the past eight October days, only two have seen positive performances for the token, with the remaining six showing negative results.

In the last 24 hours alone, the ADA price has dropped by 3.22% to reach $0.247 per unit.

Despite the gloomy outlook, Cardano developers have been working on several updates, including a recent Node 11.1.2 patch and the integration of Dijkstra's algorithm into the network.
