Cardano Surges 11% as Bitcoin and Ethereum Lag Behind
Cardano's price surged 11% on Monday, outperforming its peers in the crypto market. Bitcoin and Ethereum rose by a modest 1%, while XRP also gained a mere 1%. This divergence in performance has sparked interest in the Cardano ecosystem, with some attributing the price hike to the RealFi product, launched on October 1, which allows users to move stablecoins into institutional credit for yields of up to 9% a year.
The Dijkstra upgrade, set to arrive between late December and early 2027, is also seen as a potential catalyst for the price increase, as it aims to boost transaction speed. Additionally, Cardano's integration into the x402 payments kit, which enables AI agents to pay for web services in ADA, may have contributed to the rally.
However, not all is well in the Cardano ecosystem. Despite the price surge, trading volume on the network's decentralized exchanges has dwindled from nearly $12 million to roughly $3 million over 24 hours, suggesting that the rally may be driven by price speculation rather than new activity on the network.
As the price of ADA reached its highest level since May, with a value of over 27 cents, some are warning of potential overbought conditions. The Parabolic SAR, a trend indicator, has flipped bullish, but the RSI reads 73.08, which signals overbought conditions and a possible cooldown. Key levels to watch include resistance at $0.2752 and $0.28, as well as support at $0.26 and $0.2432.
