Cardano Surges Past Solana in Blockchain Development Rankings

Cardano (ADA) has moved up to second place in blockchain development rankings, according to Chainspect's data. The project now boasts 42 active developers over the past 30 days, surpassing Solana but trailing only Ethereum with 460.

This achievement is reflected in other trackers as well. Chainspect's all-time cumulative count shows Ethereum first with around 11,130 developers, followed by Solana near 10,865, and Cardano sixth with over 3,768 contributors.

The recent Van Rossem hard fork on July 18, 2026, has also contributed to the momentum. This upgrade delivered Plutus improvements, new cryptographic primitives, and better performance for smart contracts, giving developers fresh reasons to build on the network.
